Amplified Sound/Outdoor Sound Approval Request

Request for Outdoor Amplified Sound on Grounds (any use of speakers/microphones/megaphones/etc.)

Please complete all information below in order to request amplified sound on outdoor University Property. Please consult policy SEC-041: Use of Amplified Sound on Outdoor University Property for additional information regarding amplified sound on Grounds.

Student Affairs will approve requests only in cases where and when outdoor amplified sound is unlikely to disrupt the academic, living, or working environment of University community members or their neighbors.

Note amplified sound is not permitted in the Lawn Gardens. 

Amplified sound will generally be approved for the following timeframes during the academic session:

  • Friday: 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Requests outside these times will require special permission from the Provost's Office to ensure amplified sound will not impact classes or academic events.
